  • What insurance is included?

    All compulsory insurance is included in your quote. Your quote includes Third Party Liability, Collision Damage Waiver (Damage to the rental car with an excess). 

  • Is my mileage restricted?

    There is an unlimited mileage allowance. 

  • Travel Area

    Vehicles are restricted to travel with in the island of Ireland.

  • Where do I go to pick up the car, once booked?

  • I have decided I want a bigger car. What do I do now?

    You can upgrade your car when you arrive at the car rental desk. We will gladly upgrade your car for you, pending availability.

  • What happens if the car breaks down?

    In the unusual event of a breakdown, you have 24 hour breakdown assistance. The number to call is in the car and on the car rental agreements form.

  • Does the credit card holder have to be the renter?

    Yes, the renter must present a credit card in their own name at pickup.

  • What documents do I need for when I collect the car?

    You will need your reservation number which is emailed to you when you book your car on this site. You will also need a current, valid driver's licence, which you will have held for at least two years. Travellers from overseas will need a licence issued in their country of residence along with an English translation (where appropriate). Some form of picture Identity is required, e.g. Passport, ID card etc.

  • Can I return the car outside of opening hours?

    Please call our reservations department +353 (0) 504 52222 if you want to arrange to drop back your car outside of the office opening hours. We will do our best to facilitate you.

  • When do I pay for the car?

    You pay for the car at the time of booking or at the rental desk just before you pick-it up. Your credit card details are taken as security to book the car.

  • How do I pay for tolls in Ireland?

    Toll


    You can pay in cash at all tolling booths in Ireland except the barrier free tolling on the M50 Motorway in Dublin.

    Customers should be aware that there is no longer a cash payment facility at the tolling point on the M50 motorway (Dublin's Ringroad). Drivers of all vehicles using the section of the M50 between Junction 6 (N3 Blanchardstown) and Junction 7 (N4 Lucan) are liable to pay a toll.

     

    How much is the Toll?

     

    Cars cost €2.00 approx. Passenger vehicles with seating for more than 8 people cost €4.00

    Tolls must be paid by 8pm on the day following the journey. Failure to pay a toll will result in the following charges.

    • Not paid by 8pm on the following day: Toll + €3.00 penalty.

    • Not paid by 8pm within the next 14 days: Toll + €44 penalty.

    • Not paid within a further 56 days: Toll + €146.50 penalty.


    All unpaid tolls and violation charges relating to car hire vehicles will be referred by the authorities to Donal Ryan's who will process payment through customer's credit cards. Donal Ryan's will not accept liability for violation charges arising from unpaid tolls and these will be included in charges passed on to customers. An administration fee may also apply.
